Disclaimer- Not mine. I’m just borrowing them for a little while and will return them unharmed when I am finished.

Author’s Notes- I got a prompt for “distracting kiss” (description below) for Grayson/MC. This is set at some point in the future where Grayson and MC are married and running Prescott Industries together. It’s just a short little fluffy interlude because I adore this ship.

Pairing- Grayson/MC

Rating- PG

Summary- Lexi tries to work on an important proposal, but her husband has other ideas.

I frowned as I read the file in my hands, intently making notes. Suddenly, though, I was aware of lips against my neck. I hadn’t even heard the door open, I had been so focused on my work.

“Grayson,” I warn, still trying to read the file, though it was suddenly really difficult.

“You’ve been at it for hours,” he reminded me, continuing to place light kisses along my neck and shoulders, “you need a break.”

“I need to get this done,” I reminded him, but I put the file down. I tilted my head so I could peer up at him, “you know I’m not your assistant anymore. My work is important.”

“I know,” he assured me, “I know how hard you work, Lexi, and Prescott Industries is lucky to have you. Just like I’m lucky to have you.” His voice dropped to a low, seductive octave and his hands began to rub my shoulders, “my beautiful, intelligent wife.”

I let a little sigh, his hands felt so… good.

“I need to make a presentation to the board tomorrow,” I reminded him, even as I leaned into his embrace.

“You can take an hour break,” Grayson said persuasively, moving to stand in front of my chair, his hands braced on the arms. “I’ve barely seen you in days.”

He was right. We had both been so busy at work that if we didn’t sleep in the same bed at night, we would never see each other. I cast a look at the file and then at my handsome husband and sighed.

“An hour, huh?” I commented, leaning forward so our faces were only inches apart, “is that all?”

“I’ll take whatever I can get,” Grayson replied, a smile on his face. He closed the distance between us, his lips finding mine. It was a warm, familiar kiss that quickly built into something more.

“What about a lifetime?” I teased once the kiss was finished, resting my forehead against his, “because that’s what I signed up for.”

“There’s nothing I want more than a lifetime with you,” he told me sincerely. He let go of the chair and straightened, holding out his hand, “but for now I’ll settle for stealing an hour of your time.”

I took his hand, letting him help me to my feet. We exited the home office together, our hands entwined, both of us smiling.
