The Real Thing

Summary: Audrey finds Seth asleep in her trailer. Pointless smut, let’s be honest. Set sometime after Seth starts working on the Tender Nothings script.

Seth is usually fully engrossed in the script when Audrey heads to her trailer on a break, but today, it’s quiet, the familiar tapping of the keyboard absent. The trailer is dim, the lights flipped off, and Audrey wonders if he’s found an empty space to work in.

She doesn’t think it’s likely. Seth likes to teasingly tell her he prefers working in here because her aura of star power makes him think better. Audrey likes having him work in there too, and snagging moments with him when she has a break.

The door clicks quietly when she closes it behind her, and she spots Seth asleep on her couch. He’s on his back, one of his hands tucked under his head. Audrey laughs to herself at how his hair is sticking up, then takes her shoes off.

She kneels next to the couch, hand reaching out of its own accord to push a lock of his wavy hair back.

“Mm,” he mumbles in his sleep, then opens his eyes, blinking sleepily at her. “Hi. Sorry, I didn’t think I’d actually fall asleep.”

“It’s okay,” she answers softly.

Seth watches as she moves to lay down next to him, automatically shifting on to his side and securing his arm around her waist. Audrey sights contentedly at the feel of him holding her, nuzzling into his chest.

“Are you done for the day?” he asks with a yawn.

She shivers a little as his fingers trail over her back.

“No, just have a break,” she murmurs, closing her eyes.

Seth slips his hand just under her shirt, his fingertips light on her bare skin. Audrey loops an arm around him, playing with the ends of his hair and running her fingers over the back of his neck. He groans quietly, and she presses closer. She knows how sensitive his neck is, how much he likes when she plays with his hair.

He mumbles her name, his arm tightening around her. His lips brush over her forehead until she tilts her chin up and he kisses her. Audrey presses against his shoulder until he shifts to his back again, then sits up, hers legs on either side of his.

“Oh,” she groans quietly when he runs his hands up and down her thighs.

She glides her hand under his shirt, giggling as she traces over his stomach and he squirms. Seth runs his hands under her shirt again, then up her sides, just trailing under her breasts, then back down.

“Now who doesn’t play fair?” she asks him.

Seth grins. “You never play fair.”

“Hmm,” she hums, leaning down across his chest to kiss him.

She rocks against him instinctively, arousal rushing through her.

“You want to? Here?” Seth asks.

“Yes,” she answers immediately, suddenly impatient for him. “The door’s locked.”

“How scandalous. The screen writer and the lead actress, alone in her locked trailer,” Seth breathes in her ear, humor lacing his voice.

Audrey sits up again and grins at him suggestively, pulling her shirt over her head. She doesn’t miss his quiet intake of air and the way his pupils dilate.

“If we’re going to cause a scandal, we should probably make it count,” she suggests.

“Probably,” Seth agrees.

He stands and pulls her up against him, kissing her hungrily in between pulling their clothes off. Seth glances at the couch, his fingers flexing against her back. The couch isn’t that big, and she can tell he’s picturing them rolling off of it. As much as she wants him, she doesn’t particularly want that. Audrey nudges him to sit down, and he goes immediately, his hands settling over her hips when she straddles him.

“I like the way you think, Iowa,” he murmurs in her ear, shifting her forward.

His eyes darken even more and a low groan leaves his throat when she takes his length in her hand and slides on to him.

“Mm,” she whimpers, wrapping her arms around his neck as they start moving.

She loves the feel of his bare skin against hers, his hands roaming up and down her back and then holding her to him. She likes the way he finds that spot on her neck that makes her jolt against him and gasp. She likes being here with him, just them, with nothing else on her mind.

Seth moans when she tightens her thighs around him and turns his head, his lips seeking hers. She loves the way he kisses her, can feel how much he likes her every time he does. He teases her lower lip between his teeth, then tangles their tongues together. Audrey can feel a smile spread across his face at her quiet noise of protest when he goes to lean back.

He shifts underneath her, just enough to make her dig her fingers into his shoulders.

“Yes,” she breathes. “There…oh…”

She clenches her muscles around him, liking the way his rhythm falters briefly and he slams up into her. Audrey inhales sharply when he grinds her down on to his hips, then kisses her again, desperately this time.

“Seth…Seth…Seth!” His name is a steady mantra, until he brushes his hand between them and she gasps, coming with his name on her lips.

She feels his muscles tense, knows he’s close, and lightly sinks her teeth into his neck. He thrusts into her once more, groaning, his fingers digging into her thighs. Audrey sighs when he relaxes underneath her and rests against him, feeling his heart pounding under her hand. When she sits back after a minute, his lips tilt up in a smile.

“I knew there was a reason I liked working in your trailer,” he says, and Audrey laughs.

“Oh? It’s not just my aura of star power?”

“Oh, it is,” he insists. “This…you…are just an even better part of it.”

He leans in and kisses her quickly, then they stand and get dressed.

Just in time, Audrey thinks, because someone comes knocking on her door right after she zips up her jeans, telling her she’s needed on set.

Seth settles down with his laptop and groans as he looks at the screen. “This is why I took a break.”

“What’s wrong?” Audrey asks, grabbing a bottle of water.

He glances at her. “It’s probably stupid, but I’m not really looking forward to editing a sex scene with you and Matt.”

She nearly chokes on her water. “Oh. Right.”

She glances at the door, then perches against the table where Seth is working.

He looks up, and she leans down, pressing her lips to his.

“You get the real me, though,” she reminds him, then kisses him again.

“I do?”

“Seth,” she laughs. “Of course you do.”

He grins, his eyes crinkling. “I know, Iowa. Just messing with you before I work on this.”

Audrey rolls her eyes. “You’re a dork.”

“I never claimed any differently.”

“I’ll see you tonight,” she tells him.

Of the many things she likes about working with Seth every day, she especially likes the way he always snags her around the waist to kiss her again before she leaves.
