Convincing

Summary: Liam tries to convince Allie to not follow a wedding tradition. Set in the same universe/timeline as Should I Stay or Should I Go, but they can be read separately

“Remind me again why we can’t spend the night together?” Liam asks from his spot on the edge of the bed.

Allie zips up her bag and laughs as Liam gives her his best puppy dog look. “It’s tradition,” she reminds him teasingly, walking over and resting her hands on his shoulders. ”You insisted I had to go to my bachelorette party, so now I’m insisting we not see each other until I’m walking down the aisle tomorrow.”

Liam sighs, running his hands up and down her sides. “But the bachelorette party was a fun tradition. This isn’t fun. I just want to sleep next to you.”

“And you will,” Allie promises, straddling his lap and looping her arms around his neck. “Tomorrow.”

She leans down, bringing her lips just above his. “The wait will be worth it, I promise,” she whispers.

Liam groans. “This isn’t fair.”

“I’m just giving you something to remember me by,” Allie breathes out, her eyes closing as Liam presses slow, warm kisses against her neck, his hands wrapping around her hips.

“As if I could forget you,” he murmurs, kissing up to her ear.

“Just making sure.”

“When do you have to leave?” Liam asks, gliding his hands under the back of her shirt.

“Mmm…in about an hour.”

She cracks an eye open as Liam’s hands still, sucking in a breath at the look on his face. “Why?”

He smiles, then says, “Don’t you have to finish packing?” against her ear.

Allie furrows her brow and leans back. “Are you…really, Liam?”

Liam chuckles. “Turnabout is fair play, my love.”

Allie scowls and swats his shoulder lightly. “Tease.”

“I believe you are the one who sat on my lap,” he laughs, rising to a stand and setting her down.

“Touché.”

She finishes packing her bag and sets it next to the door, then strips out of her pajamas and slips her favorite sundress on. Liam stares at her while she changes, that same look on his face from earlier.

“I just got dressed,” Allie says warningly as Liam casually strolls over to her vanity.

She puts her earrings in and holds her hand out so he’ll clasp her bracelet. He keeps a grip on her hand when he’s done, pressing his lips to the inside of her wrist. His eyes are dark and full of a tangle of emotions, and Allie bites her lip as he wraps his arms around her and pulls her against him.

“We don’t have time,” she murmurs.

“I can still kiss you goodbye.”

His lips crash onto hers without warning, his tongue seeking hers. Allie groans, his hands everywhere, and she really regrets not packing earlier. He bites at her lower lip, then soothes it with a kiss.

Liam,” she moans, his hands sliding down to her thighs, his fingers teasing along the hem of her dress.

“You are so fucking beautiful,” he groans. “Just stay here.” The curse word makes her shiver against him, a desperate whine leaving her mouth, and she feels him grin. He knows exactly what he does to her when he curses.

“I-oh!” she gasps as he pushes the hem of her dress up and traces a fingertip over the edge of her underwear.

“Just stay, baby,” he whispers. “We don’t have to follow every tradition.”

“No,” she moans, fisting her hands in his shirt as he slides his hand beneath the band of her underwear. His fingers are light and teasing, circling where she wants him to touch her the most.

“Please,” Allie begs, pressing her hips into his hand and sinking her teeth gently into his neck.

She knows Liam is powerless to deny her anything when she begs, and her breathless plea spurs him into action. He withdraws his hand and walks her backwards to the bed, laying her down and then crawling over her.

Their lips are desperate and hungry against each other as he slides her underwear off, then starts to move down, pushing her dress up. She whimpers, tugging him back up. “I want you,” she moans.

“We don’t have-“

“I don’t care.”

Liam groans as she reaches for his belt buckle and undoes it, then slides his zipper down. He grunts as she wraps her hand around him, then stands and shoves his pants and boxers off. He runs his hands up her thighs as he climbs back in the bed, then grips her hips and rolls her over onto her knees.

“Oh,” she whimpers as he pulls her hips back against his.

He slams into her, his fingers digging into her hips as they move together. Her fingers claw at the sheets, her breath coming in short gasps as he sets a rapid pace. They don’t have the luxury of taking their time right now, and she can feel his desperation for her. He slips his fingers between her legs, pushing her over the edge, and she moans as he thrusts into her and then stills, his hands tightening around her hips.

“Fuck,” he mutters, and she chokes out a laugh as she collapses against the bed.

Liam curls up behind her, his arm draped around her waist and his lips warm against her shoulder.

She’s pretty sure they doze off for a few minutes, both of them waking when a guard knocks at the door and announces that Allie’s car is ready. Liam sighs as she turns and presses her lips to his briefly, then climbs out of bed.

“I really can’t convince you to stay?” he asks, watching as she pulls her underwear back on and straightens out her dress.

She smiles, leaning down to kiss him again. “No. Though that was pretty persuasive.”

Liam chuckles, tugging his boxers and pants on and walking her to the door.

She grins as he leans in and brushes his lips over hers. “I love you,” he murmurs in her ear.

“And I love you. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
