Chapter 3: Running Past

Summary: The drama between Liam and Victoria keeps going on. It seems like someone doesn’t want them to be together. Will Liam find his luck? And will Victoria find hers?

After a long flight he arrived in New York. At the sight of the similar city he felt a little overwhelmed. And he just realised how big New York is and that it is almost impossible to find her.

“I won’t give up. You belong to me.“ Liam said to himself.

Before he starts to look for her he went to his apartment he rent for three days to make a plan. And sleep first because it’s pretty late and it wouldn’t make any sense to look for her in the middle of the night.

Day 1 – Liam’s search
Liam woke up late. The flight must’ve been more exhausting than he thought or is it the fact that the sleep didn’t come fast, because his mind keeps going back to her. And when he closes his eyes all he can see is her with her beautiful smile. Her dimples you can see when she is smiling or the way her eyes are shining when she is truly happy. He remembered the first day she was at the palace in her red dress at the Masquerade Ball. He remembered that he didn’t recognize her.

Hello. You’ll have to forgive me, but I don’t think we’ve met..“ He said. Victoria immediately started to smile and answered “Oh? And how does a prince greet a beautiful mystery woman?” He was fascinated by her.

Even if he didn’t know that it was her – not until she said it. And now? He would notice her wherever she is. She is the first person he sees when he enters a room full of people. And then remembered the Bachelor party – the very first time he saw her. Liam felt bad for keeping her up late and for his friends being so demanding. So he wanted to make it good to her with a drink. But instead of going in the next club she wanted to take him to a secret cove. He was so thankful for that, even if he didn’t say it. Another memory was the moment she step out of the club in her green dress, she wore three necklaces. When she was standing like this in front of him it was like something hit him. She was the most beautiful woman he has ever seen in his whole life.

Because of this memory, he thought she could work there again, that’s why he starts at the club which makes his heart ache at the sight of it. What if.. I won’t find her? How am I supposed to live without her? He went up to the bar.

“Good afternoon, Sir. Can I bring you something?“ The bartender asks him.

“No, but is a brown haired girl with hazel eyes still working here?”

“No sorry, Sir. She left months ago without a word.”

She wasn’t here. So she isn’t working here again.

“Thank you.” Liam left and crashed into a man.

“Sorry Sir. Are you hurt?“ The man said.

Liam knows that face but can’t recognize it. “No I’m fine, Mr…?” He tried to find out the name, maybe then he remembers who he is.

“Daniel. I work here. So if you maybe want to have a drink come around and you get one for free. Have a good day.”

“Thank you, I will think about it.”

Nothing. He can’t remember a person called Daniel. So he left and went through the streets, completely lost. He can’t remember any places she could be. Maybe that’s why she left? Because we don’t know each other that good? When I find her, I have to change that. He almost crushed into a bicycle, because he is so in his mind.
He went back to the apartment, because he can’t think of another place today. He crashed himself on the mattress and try to clear his mind and remember a little detail about her. Did she ever told someone from where she is? Liam looked up shocked.

“What if… she isn’t here? What if she isn’t in New York?” He sighed. One thing is clear it won’t be easy to find her in three days.

Victoria at the same time.
The next morning hit her like a train. No Maxwell running in her room and screams Good Morning, little blossom, it’s time to make House Beaumont proud.

“I disappointed House Beaumont.. I’m so sorry.“  she muttered alone in her room.

She is sorry, even for Bertrand. He might be strict and never laughed but that’s because he got a lot to carry on his shoulder. Deep down Bertrand can make compliments. One time he actually showed that he was proud of her. One time she even saw a smile.

At this thought she smiled, but it faded fast. “And now I destroyed it and made it more complicated for him. But it was for the better, wasn’t it?”

She went in the bathroom and splash cold water in her face and looked in the mirror. All she can see are her puffy eyes because she cried herself to sleep. Back in the room she put on some clothes she took with her from Cordonia. Looking back in the mirror if she can go like this, she see the bath suit out of her suitcase. Turning around and take the bath suit holding it to her nose, she started to cry again. It smells like him. She remembers the moment they both sprang from the forgotten falls and kissed each other – passionately. It hurts so much. I miss you Liam. I’ll never forgive myself.

After the tears dried, she took sunglasses and went to the club where Daniel works, maybe she can clear her mind there. Talking with him – not about Liam. She couldn’t do that, no one would believe her. She decided to take a walk to the club instead of taking a cab. Maybe the fresh air will clear her mind.  Before she enters she saw a man that looks similar like Liam. Now I’m getting crazy. That can’t be. Right?
