Summary: Liam ruled Cordonia for six months alone but he misses Victoria. Will he succeed and actually find her or not? And if he does find her, will she come back or did he ruin everything?
It’s been six months since the outburst he had back at the Beaumont Estate. Liam wishes he wouldn’t have reacted the way he did. He told her he never want to see her again and she saw the hurt in her eyes, the guilt she had after he found out she cheated on him. Even Drake told him that she felt bad after the sex they had, but the anger spoke above Liam’s mind. And now he looks for but can’t find her. No matter where he looks it seems like Victoria is really dead, just like Cordonia thinks.
When Maxwell and Valentina married Victoria wasn’t there, so people asked where Queen Victoria is and Liam had to find a way to make them stop asking questions, so he made up a speech where they explained that it seems like Queen Victoria were involved in a car accident and passed away in the family.
Liam sits in his study looking over all the paper on it. Everything belongs to the search for Victoria. All the leads he could get but everything turns out to be a wrong lead. Every time he takes a step back, it seems like luck isn’t on his side.
“I am not even angry on you. I mean I made you go.“ Liam sighs and leans back in the chair.
He remembers what Drake told him three months ago, when they talked about it.
“Drake how could you do that? How? I am your best friend! How can you touch my wife?” Liam screams at his best friend.
“Believe me if I could change it I would, but it happened. I can’t undo it! I told her I need one more night, she gave it to me, because we cared for each other. We thought we could end up together, but you were the one who stole her heart, not me!“
“And that’s your excuse for touching my wife?”
“I have no excuse and I don’t try to give you one. I love her, and I will do it for a long time. I can’t change it, but I will try it, okay? But it doesn’t even matter anymore because as you can see you pushed her out of your life! She is gone!” Drake shouts back.
“I know.. I was too harsh wasn’t I?“
“Yes, you pushed her to the floor and hurt her. You made her feel like she is nothing but a stupid snake you have to get rid of.” Drake explains.
“I.. Oh.. gosh..” Liam remembers pushing her so she stumbled over something and he didn’t even took care of her. He ignored her, he was furious and was focused on Drake than on her.
He told her to leave. “I am an asshole. I.. I am so sorry.”
“Don’t apologise to me, find her and apologise to her.” Liam looks up to his best friend.
“But I am sorry for screaming at you. I know you have a lot of guilt already. And I appreciate it that you were thinking of telling me, I mean you could have just let it be and she would be by my side, without me knowing about it.“ Liam looks out of the window. “I forgive you Drake. I really do.”
Drake walks over to Liam and looks at him. “Thank you.”
Liam and Drake hug each other and hold each other for a while before pulling away. “You are like my brother Liam.”
“I know! And you are mine!” Drake claps on his shoulder and holds up a bottle of whiskey.
Liam leans back to the desk. “I have to find you. I really have to! I have to make it right again.”
Liam looks through the papers and through his tablet, to find any new leads. The last leads in New York, Los Angeles and Miami were wrong. She wasn’t the persons behind the names.
Liam finds two more leads he has to check out – one girl called Zina Hawas, who lives in Chicago and another girl called Avery Thompson in Honolulu.
Liam stands up and write down the names and walks over to Bastien.
“I have to leave for the United States.”
Bastien nods. “Where do you want to go?”
“Chicago and Honolulu.”
Bastien nods and walks away to prepare the flight for Liam. “I will find you, Vicky.”
After twelve and half hours flight Liam arrives in Chicago. He checks into the hotel first before making the way through Chicago. He doesn’t even know where to start. It is a huge city but he will check out the addresses he got from that one person, even though some of them might be too old to be still the address.
The first address he checks is in the region Logan Square in the W Palmer Street. As he arrives there he looks at the bells but can’t find the name Hawas. He rings one bell and waits for someone to respond.
“Hello?”
“Hey, can I ask some question about a former neighbour of yours?” The other man opens the door and Liam walks over to him.
“Hello, sorry if I come without explaining anything.“
“It’s alright but how can I help?”
“Do you remember a neighbour called Zina Hawas?”
“Uh no, I can’t even remember a woman ever lived in this house.” Liam nods.
“Okay thank you, then I have to look further.” Liam says goodbye and walks out and walks over to the next street.
The next address is in the region Bucktown near the Holston Park. He rings a bell again.
“Hello?”
“Hello I need some information about a former neighbour of yours?”
“Uh why?”
“I am looking for someone I lost, and I need to find her.”
The door opens and he walks up to the old woman.
“Oh wow, you don’t seem to be from here?”
“Uhh? No, is it that obvious?”
“Well, such a handsome man like you aren’t usually here.”
“Hah, thanks.” Liam chuckles.
“Who is the person you look for?”
My wife who changed her name and now I need to find her.”
The old woman nods. “And who is the neighbour you need information about?”
“Zina Hawas?”
The old woman thinks for a second. “Oh yeah I remember, she was around here very often. She moved to another place in Chicago.”
“Do you have an address?”
“Oh yes, one moment.”
Liam heart beats faster. He really hopes that this girl is Victoria.
“Here is the address, but you should take a cab, it’s at the other end of the city.”
“Thank so you so much, Ma’am.”
“I really hope you find your wife.” The woman smiles and says goodbye to him. Liam goes out and looks for a cab.
He shouts after a cab and it actually stops. “Hello I need to go to..” He opens paper and looks on it. “the region Arizona and the address is East 134th Street, please.”
“Of course.”
After eight hours driving through the whole city he arrives in the street. Liam pays the driver more than he needed but Liam was thankful he drove him more than eight hours through the whole city.
As he walks up to the street he sees one girl looking similar to Victoria.
“Miss Hawas?“ The woman turns to the man and stops.
“Yes?”
Liam looks at her and his heart hurts.
“I thought you might be the woman I look for but it seems like it isn’t like that. I am sorry for bothering you.”
“I never get bothered my an attractive man.”
Liam smiles uneasy and holds up his hand. “I am married, but thanks.”
Liam turns around and walks along the street, watching the sun sets.
Liam takes his phone. “Bastien, it was the wrong lead. It isn’t Victoria. Can you come and pick me up?”
“Of course will be there. Is there a Park nearby?”
“Uhh…. Yeah at the end of the street. Park No. 576.”
Liam chuckles. “Americans are weird.”
Bastien joins laughing. “I pick you up with a helicopter who brings us directly to the airport to the private jet I arranged for Hawaii.”
“Thank you”
