Summary- Eleanor and Liam take a moment to admire their new daughter.

“She is perfect,” Liam exclaimed, reaching a gentle hand out and running a finger over the soft cheek of the infant in Eleanor’s arms.

Eleanor smiles, gazing down at her daughter. “She is.”

“And so is her mother,” Liam added, brushing a gentle kiss across her forehead, “I have never been more in awe of you.”

“I have to admit, giving birth in the palace under lockdown without any pain killers was not part of my birth plan,” Eleanor admitted, “but… I guess I should know to expect crazy things by now. Kidnapped by assassins at our wedding, giving birth during a lockout, our life is never dull.”

“No,” Liam agreed, then he suddenly looked concerned, “how are you feeling? Are you sure you didn’t want to go to the hospital and get checked out?”

“I am fine,” Eleanor assured him, “the doctor said so, remember? And I have no intention of leaving this bed for the next several days.” She grinned, “so you are going to have to wait on me hand in foot.”

“Anything for my Queen,” Liam assured her and then he reached for the baby, “and right now, that means letting you get some rest and putting this angel in her bassinet.”

Eleanor watched her husband carefully cradle their daughter and wondered if it was possible for a heart to burst from love. Despite the craziness of life in Cordonia, she would never trade it for anything, because her husband and daughter made it all worth it.
