Important – My MC is Viktoria Petit, and my King Liam is called King Istvan

Rating – Kinda saucy in parts, so to be safe: nsfw, please be aware…

Disclaimer – Characters are Pixelberry’s, not mine, this is just for fun & I don’t make any money from it.

This is for @tmarie82 who told me she missed Drake and Cassie 💖💖💖 but as I wrote it, and it ended up being several parts long, it kinda took a little turn which I’m not sure how anyone will feel about? You can let me know… 😘. It is kinda the same universe as my other Istvan and Viktoria fics, certain parts stand alone as a one off if that makes any sense? So those won’t be relevant in other fics.

Everyone else had retired to their lodges already, only Maxwell remained, one of the jeeps would come back for him, he was the ‘final drop off’. Maxwell grinned at Olivia as she lay across the sofa, high-heeled shoes off, her perfectly coiffed hairstyle looking slightly worse for wear after the dancing and drinking… Maxwell poured them both a final glass of fizz as he waited and walked over to the sofa,

“Scoot up Liv!”

Olivia scowled as she shifted from her comfortable position to accommodate Maxwell,

“Urgh I suppose since you brought me more wine…”

As she took the glass from him, Maxwell gave her the finger guns,

“Great night Olivia, great party. Just top notch. The only thing that was missing was some peacocks…”

Olivia laughed and almost spit her fizz out,

“I shall consider it a success, aside from the lack of peacocks…”

Maxwell nodded as he beamed at her,

“You did good.”

Olivia opened her mouth to say something snarky but the words never quite came, she simply closed her mouth again and bumped her shoulder lightly against Maxwell as though to say ’thanks’. She felt one arm come up around her in a hug, grazing her shoulder gently where his fingers fell.

In that moment, Olivia felt something inside her that she wasn’t quite sure of, usually she found Maxwell to be irritatingly cheerful and honestly, a bit of a bumbling idiot, but right now, sat on the sofa, his surprisingly muscular arm slung around her, smiling down at her? He was really very handsome. That dark wavy hair, and perfect dimples when he smiled… He had lovely teeth, so straight and gleaming white… She wondered what his lips felt like… Her heart started to beat faster: why was she thinking about Maxwell Beaumont’s lips…? And why was he looking at her like that?

Maxwell had never actually noticed how clear and green Olivia Nevrakis’ sparkling eyes were before. Set in flawless porcelain skin and emphasised by that shock of fiery red hair. She was a striking-looking girl. No, actually, she was a scandalously beautiful woman… It was amazing the way a smile could change someone, Maxwell thought to himself: Olivia had always been so sarcastic and mean, trying to push everyone away all the time, that he’d never noticed how damn pretty she was. Or how witty she was; she was as smart as a whip and really observant… He was smiling at her, as she returned his smile, he wondered, was it the alcohol or was it sort of weird that he all of a sudden felt very close to her?

Maxwell could feel butterflies in his stomach as he reached his hand out to brush a stray lock of red hair behind her ear… He smiled softly at her, suddenly realising that she looked incredibly vulnerable, a look he’d never seen on Olivia before; her eyes glistened like she may start to cry… Maxwell resisted the urge deep within him to kiss her, he simply pulled her closer, wrapping both his arms around her in a caring embrace, placing a soft kiss into her hair as he felt her body tense for a few seconds before relaxing into his, he sighed her name contentedly as he felt her slim arms snake around him, at first hesitantly, then squeezing him a little… Holding each other…

They stayed like that for several minutes until the crackle of the drivers intercom alerted Olivia that Maxwell’s ride was ready to take him to his lodge. Maxwell let go of Olivia, somewhat reluctantly, standing and stretching as he finished the glass of fizz. Olivia stood too, flashing him a somewhat nervous grin, wringing her hands. Maxwell reached out and took her small pale hand in his as he spoke with genuine warmth,

“Olivia, happy birthday and thank you again for a wonderful night, I have thoroughly enjoyed myself.”

He placed a gentle kiss on the back of her hand as she laughed,

“Even without the peacocks…”

As she watched Maxwell jump into the jeep to head to his lodge, Olivia let out a breath that she felt like she’d been holding for a hundred years. Her mind whirled; she couldn’t explain the strange closeness between them that felt so familiar, but wasn’t. She couldn’t get her head around how good he smelled or how surprisingly strong he was. And for someone who behaved like a huge dork a lot of the time, she couldn’t believe how gentlemanly and sophisticated he’d just been, holding her, kissing her hand?? She was sideswiped. What the hell just happened?
