Disclaimer- Not mine. I’m just borrowing them for a little while and will return them unharmed when I am finished.

Author’s Notes- This is pure fluff. This is a Chris/Savannah piece set about four months after “The Next Step” and set several years after they graduate from college. I got several requests for the dialogue prompt “I’m pregnant” and was just waiting for inspiration. I felt the need to write some fluff today and decided to write a little moment in the life of one of my favorite couples.

Pairing- Chris/MC

Rating- PG

Summary- Savannah has news for her husband.

Words- 414

I tapped my foot impatiently, trying to stop myself from staring at the little stick. It said to wait two minutes, so I was going to wait two minutes. Finally the timer on my phone went off and I grabbed the stick.

One line or two? Who knew that would be the most important question of my entire line? I closed my eyes for a second and then looked at the stick.

Two lines.

OMG.

Two lines.

I let out a squeal and jumped up and down, unconcerned with the fact that I was standing barefoot in my bathroom, wearing nothing more than one of my husband’s t-shirts.

Speaking of my husband… I raced from the bathroom to the bedroom, the stick clutched tightly in my hand and jumped onto the bed where Chris was still sleeping soundly.

“Savannah?” He asked sleepily, sitting up, “what’s going on?”

I shoved the stick at him, too excited to form words. He took it, stared at it for a moment and then looked at me hopefully. “Babe? Does this…”

“I’m pregnant!I shouted excitedly.

Chris dropped the stick on the ground and wrapped me in his arms, pulling me down onto the bed and kissing me enthusiastically. “We’re having a baby,” he said when we finally broke apart for air, his hand resting on my stomach.

“We are!” I agreed, wondering how I had managed to get so lucky. Falling in love with Chris, marrying him, starting a life together, it had all been wonderful and now we were going to have a baby. Life was good.

“I love you,” Chris told me, his arms tight around me. “I can’t wait to have a family with you, Savannah, you are going to be the best mom.”

“And you’re going to be the best dad,” I assured him, smiling at the idea of Chris as a dad.

“How are you feeling?” He asked suddenly, “any morning sickness?”

“Not yet,” I told him, “It’s still really early though. I just had a feeling and decided to test. I’m sure the symptoms will come, but for now, I just feel happy.”

“Me too,” Chris said, a goofy grin on his face. “We’re having a baby.”

I wondered how many times he was going to say it over the next few days. Probably a lot, I decided, and I was sure that it was going to sound just as wonderful every time he said it.

We were having a baby.
