I was inspired to do this little interview by the wonderful @xxrainbowprincessxx for my MC Viktoria and King Istvan (he’s not called Liam in my TRR lol)- it was really fun! I’d encourage anyone else who wants to have a go to try it 💖
Ana: Can you talk our readers through how you met? I understand it’s a bit of a fairytale?
Istvan: (laughs and takes Viktoria’s hand) I suppose it is! It seems so long ago now! It was just before the Social Season began. My friends had taken me to New York for the weekend, sort of a bachelor party…
Viktoria: (interrupts) Yeah I was the kissogram…
(The King turns with a shocked look on his face, then the Royal Couple burst into laughter, minutes pass as they compose themselves.)
Viktoria: (wiping her eyes) I’m so sorry… I couldn’t resist! Istvan’s friends appeared in the bar that I was waitressing in at the time. I was taking their order, when Istvan arrived.
Istvan: and the rest as they say is history…
Ana: So it was love at first site?
Viktoria: I don’t know if I believe in love at first site. There was definitely an instant attraction when he smiled at me. Istvan asked if I could recommend a good nightclub after my bar closed. I ended up playing tour guide. Within the space of that few hours, I’d 100% fallen in love with him.
Istvan: (kisses Viktoria’s hand) I agree. At first sight I thought ‘Wow, she’s beautiful’, but after we’d gotten to know one another a little better over the course of the evening; we had this amazingly deep connection. I couldn’t contemplate that I didn’t know her before that night, it was something that I still can’t really explain… Then I had to fly back to Cordonia with a heavy heart thinking I’d never see her again…
Ana: Viktoria did you ever think that night when you met our King that you’d be sitting here?
Viktoria: Honestly? No. I thought it was just a surreal experience one random night in New York, you know? You go to work, serve some food, go clubbing with a prince… I woke up the next morning ready to go back to reality.
Istvan: I’m eternally grateful that my good friend Lord Beaumont recognised that there was special between us and pursued it…
Ana: Viktoria you’re an honorary Beaumont and are seen in the press a lot with Lord Maxwell. Istvan, have your ties with House Beaumont strengthened because of your marriage?
Istvan: Well he brought me my wife! (Laughing). The Crown has always shared a very cordial alliance with House Beaumont and will continue to do so.
Viktoria: Yes, Maxwell holds a very special place in both our hearts. He’s like a brother to me, and is one of my most trusted confidantes. I care deeply about Duke Ramsford also; he’s had my best interests at heart since I arrived in Cordonia.
Ana: can you choose three words to describe each other
Viktoria: selfless, loving and strong
Istvan: big-hearted, funny and clever
Ana: What is your favourite thing about each other?
Istvan: If she doesn’t agree with something or thinks it’s not the right course of action, she doesn’t just accept it. She can make me see things in a way I that I maybe wouldn’t have otherwise; she challenges and inspires me.
Viktoria: His heart. I think the people of Cordonia should know how lucky they are to have a King who cares as much as Istvan. He is the most gracious, kind and compassionate man I’ve ever met.
Ana: How would you describe a typical day in your relationship?
Istvan: We always try to have at least a coffee together in the morning before we have to get to meetings or events. I love days like today when we get to work together.
Viktoria: When we are apart we always send messages, and do a quick FaceTime from the car… It’s important to make time for each other and not get caught up by the madness! We don’t always get to eat dinner together, so I cook on the weekend and that’s our special time together, apparently it’s a bit unconventional for a Queen but I enjoy it, so why not?!
Ana: you are both busy people! what’s a perfect date night for you both?
Istvan: maybe a good meal, some wine, just getting the opportunity to have some uninterrupted chilled out time together as a couple.
Viktoria: (takes Istvans hand) Yeah, that sounds pretty perfect to me!!
Ana: Viktoria talk us through your dress, Istvan what did you think of Viktoria’s look on the day?
Viktoria: I loved my dress. It was created by our very talented friend Lady Hana Lee. She’d designed a beautiful dress for me once before and I adored it, I thought it would be very fitting to have one of our closest friends play such an integral part in both our day and in Cordonian memory.
Istvan: My wife was simply stunning, I’m a lucky man! Lady Hana felt very honoured to be asked to design Viktoria’s bridal gown. She did a sensational job! I understand that she’s been approached by several French and Italian fashion houses since the wedding photos aired in the press. We wish her every success if she chooses to pursue any of those offers!
Ana: As the Royal Wedding is now over, what was the highlight of the day for you?
Viktoria: Apart from getting to marry the man I love? (Winks at Istvan) I loved our first dance as man and wife. And I loved that our little corgi Raul was included in the wedding, he was so cute in his little bow tie!
Istvan: Seeing Viktoria walking down the aisle towards me; she looked wonderful but it was her smile that truly took my breath away. (Laughs) Also, I may get into trouble from my wife for saying this, but after the wedding we made own private vows, just the two of us. That was a really important part of the day for both of us.
Ana: what do you see next for you both?
Viktoria and Istvan (in unison laughing) : a honeymoon!
Istvan: things have been so busy that we haven’t had the chance to take any time out, we will soon though, just for a few days… Then we’ll be right back to Court business!
