Author’s note: I was the last to say “not it” between @tmarie82, @bobasheebaby and myself to writing this fic/drabble inspired by the top middle photo. I guess it was mostly my idea anyway.
Riley sat with Hannah and Olivia at the palace planning the after party for the annual Regatta when Maxwell came rushing in the room.
“You guys have to see what I found. I was shopping for a bag online, and I googled ‘man purse’-”
“Wait,” Riley cut Maxwell off. “Why were you googling man purses?”
“That’s not important. Just look at what I found.” Maxwell held out a photo of a man with big, dark sunglasses who was seemingly naked except for an extra large bag cradled between his legs covering any indecent parts.
Hana peeked at the photo. “That’s…interesting. Oh my goodness, is that Drake?”
Olivia snatched the photo out of Maxwell’s hand. “No fucking way!”
“Let me see!” Olivia handed Riley the picture. She hadn’t noticed at first because of the dark glasses and the longer hair across his forehead, but there was no mistaking that it was Drake in the photo. “What is this from? It looks like a handbag or luggage ad. Was Drake a model?”
Olivia cackled. “Drake Walker, a model? You can’t be serious.”
“The photo did say the model was someone named Daniel di Tomasso,” Maxwell explained, “so I looked him up.” Maxwell produced several more photos or Drake clad in underwear and bathing suits. “Either Drake has a long lost identical twin, or he has a secret identity.”
“This is…unexpected. Why did you print these all out?” Riley questioned, still trying to wrap her head around this new information.
“We needed some hard evidence. It looks like these were all done when we were in college, which could be a reason nobody knew about it,” Maxwell explained.
Liam and Drake walked in from their run. “What is everyone looking at?” Liam asked.
“Oh look, it’s Daniel!” Olivia quipped.
Drake turned his head back to see if anyone else was behind them and then Riley saw the color drain from his face.
Liam turned to Drake. “Why is she calling you Daniel?”
“I’m sure Drake has a good explanation,” Hana reasoned.
Liam took a look at the photos. “What are these? Is that you Drake? Why didn’t I know about this?”
“Hana’s right, I can explain. When I went away for college I was strapped for cash and someone approached me to take some pictures for print ads. I didn’t realize what type of pictures they would be taking, but the money was too good to pass up. Turns out being naturally broody has it’s advantages for modeling.”
“So why the fake name?” Riley inquired.
“For exactly this reason. I didn’t want this getting back to anyone in Cordonia. The ads were only run in American magazines, so I figured if my real name wasn’t attached, nobody would find them.
“I think my favorite one is the one with you hugging the giant cologne bottle.” Olivia decided. “No wonder you always smell like you bathed in cologne. You have enough to literally fill a bathtub.”
“I like the one with the dad bathing suit.” Liam teased.
“I like the tighty whities look myself. So…” Maxwell pondered. “Is it true that they give you padding to make your…you know…look bigger?”
“I am not answering that,” Drake protested.
“I bet Riley can answer that.” Olivia mused.
“Riley felt her cheeks flush, but she decided to answer anyways. “Um, definitely no padding needed.”
Drake shook his head. “Oh my god Riley. Maxwell give me all of the pictures. I’m going to burn them.”
“That’s okay, I can print more! The internet never forgets.”
Everyone laughed but Drake. “Well you better forget Maxwell. If I hear about this again from anyone, you are all dead to me,” Drake said, only half serious. “Even you Riley.”
“So I can’t introduce you as my hot underwear model husband?” Riley joked.
Drake looked like he was trying to be mad but couldn’t suppress a grin. “You are all the worst.”
