“Where There’s Smoke” – Sam x Dave (NSFW)

Summary: Tensions are running high after Sam and Dave’s daring escape, but Tull’s trailer might not be the only thing on fire.

Notes: This takes place at the police station during chapter 9 of Most Wanted after Sam and Dave escape Tull’s trailer. I pulled the first two dialogue lines from their argument at the precinct, but gave it a very different ending 😉 Enjoy!

“A cowgirl’s always gotta charge in half-cocked. Ever the calvary,” Dave said, rolling his eyes.

“That’s right, Hollywood, everything is my fault,” Sam snarled at Dave. “I’m so sorry that I didn’t sweet talk him at a dinner party like the rest of LA, but, in Texas, we don’t mess around when it comes to collaring serial killers!”

“YOU’RE NOT IN TEXAS ANYMORE!” Dave shouted, finally losing his cool.

The room fell completely silent. Even the phones seemed to sense the awkwardness and they didn’t dare to ring. Reza, Nikhil, and Mirasol exchanged uncomfortable glances. Dave took a breath, steadying himself.

“Massey, can I talk to you for a moment? Alone?” he asked, quieter this time.

Sam opened her mouth, ready to argue, but instead she chose to say nothing and nodded. Dave led her into his office and closed the door. He began to pace the floor as Sam crossed her arms impatiently. Dave stopped walking and put a frustrated hand over his eyes, trying to organize his racing thoughts.

“I thought you wanted to talk,” Sam said, annoyed. “If you just want me to watch you hit your step goal for the day, I’m going to leave. I have better things to do, like catching Tull.”

“Would you just shut up for one second?” Dave snapped, pulling the hand away from his eyes.

“Excuse me?” Sam asked, dropping her arms and starting for the door. “Whatever, I don’t have to listen to this.”

“Sam.”

Dave’s use of her first name stopped her. She turned around to look at him again, unprepared to see that he’d followed her and was now standing close to her. Very close.

“Look,” Dave said. “I’m sorry I yelled … I think I’m still shaken up by everything that happened back there in the trailer.”

Sam sighed, the fight draining out of her.

“Yeah, I guess I am too,” she agreed. “Occupational hazard though, right?”

Dave hesitated, searching her face. He suddenly turned away and crossed the room to the desk, resting his hands on the polished wood.

“God dammit, Sam, you’re going to make me say it, aren’t you?” he asked.

“Say what?”

“Christ, Sam, I can’t be worried about you!” he exclaimed.

“You don’t have to worry about me, I can take care of myself,” Sam said tartly. Dave was usually so smooth, and she found his lack of control a little unnerving. He laughed bitterly.

“Yes, I know,” Dave said. “You don’t need anyone or anything.” He walked back over to her and stopped when they were almost touching, barely a whisper between them. “What about me?” he asked, his voice quiet.

“What do you mean?” Sam asked, but she was pretty sure she already knew. She suddenly felt nervous standing this close to Dave. She clenched her fingers to try to keep them from shaking, her nails digging into her palms. Sam felt short of breath and she was fairly certain it had nothing to do with smoke inhalation.

“You might not need me, but I …” Dave swallowed hard. He was close enough that Sam could feel his breath on her lips. “Dammit, Sam, I–”

Sam cut him off by closing the gap between them, pressing her lips to his. Dave threaded one hand behind her neck and the other around her waist, pulling her tightly to him. Sam slid her hands underneath his jacket, tugging his shirt free so she could slip her hands against his bare back. He yanked off his jacket, tossing it aside before he picked up Sam and carried her over to his desk, sweeping away its contents to make room for her. He kissed her again as he unzipped her pants, sliding a hand inside her panties. Sam moaned softly and Dave could already feel how wet she was against his fingers. He slid his other hand up her shirt and cupped her breast.

“Aren’t you worried they’ll hear us?” Sam gasped, nodding towards the door.

In response, Dave yanked off her pants with such force that Sam almost fell off the desk. She grabbed his tie and pulled him to her, her mouth finding his. Sam undid Dave’s belt and reached inside his pants, finding him waiting for her. He bucked in her hands and she wasted no time in guiding him inside her. Dave groaned, burying his face in her neck. He kept his fingers on her as he thrust into her, circling her, pressing her as she tried to hold back the cries that rose in her throat. Just as she opened her mouth, Dave clapped his hand over her mouth, suppressing her voice as she came, biting his palm. The pain brought Dave closer and closer, finally coming as Sam tightened around him, squeezing every last bit of pleasure out of him.

Breathing hard, Dave gently wrapped his arms around Sam. He kissed her shoulder, her neck, her ear, her cheek, her forehead, her nose, and finally her lips.

“Maybe we should escape from a fiery inferno of a trailer every day,” Sam murmured, cupping his face in her hands.

“That seems excessive–I was just going to suggest we get dinner–but sure,” Dave said with a grin. “Why not?”
