Game Over (and other stories)

Author’s Note: This is a small compilation of drabbles based on prompts from a “Which Member of your OTP” list. Thanks to violetflipflops for requesting these, they were very fun to write.

Game Over

Prompt: Which member… takes UNO wayyy to seriously

They sit statue still on either side of the coffee table, eyes locked intently on one another. His dark eyebrows quirk upwards, challenging her to make a move.

Suddenly, the blonde breaks the stare-down, her eyes darting from the blue playing card laying atop the haphazard pile on the table, to the single card her opponent grips firmly, and then to the pair in her hand. A wide, smug grin inches across her face as she swiftly plucks the multi-colored card from her hand and places it lightly on the pile.

“Red. Take four and weep, Tin Man.” Thea announces mater-of-factly. “Oh, and UNO,” she adds when Kenji’s eyes flicker to her hands, and she watches in amusement as a look of frustrated defeat sweeps across his face.

“Damn it, not again! You’re using some crazy Prism World power to influence the cards aren’t you?”

“Nope, I’m just better than you. But I’ll make it up to you once we’re done,” she remarks, reaching under the table to walk her fingers up his thigh slowly and Kenji’s eyes darken.

“You win. Game over.”

Stuck on You

Prompt: which member… secretly loves nose/forehead kisses

“Just where do you think you’re going?” Kenji asks teasingly, wrapping his arm around my waist and pulling me towards him in the booth.

“Come on Lover Boy, you had her all to yourself last week, letting us borrow her for a few minutes won’t kill you,” Eva quips, an inebriated Poppy giggling behind her.

“I’ll be right back, promise,” I tell Kenji, placing a gentle kiss on his forehead before wiggling out of his grasp and standing up.

He raises one eyebrow at me, a half-irritated look in his eyes, but he’s unable to stop the subtlest hint of rosy pink from materializing on his cheeks. I lean over and brush my smirking lips against his forehead once more. Pleased with the full-on blush now visible on his face I turn to follow my friends to the bathroom.

Fondly rubbing my finger over the smooth wedding band on my finger I call over my shoulder, “Don’t worry, Katsaros, you’re stuck with me now. Forever.”

A True Hero

Prompt: Which member… get’s cranky when they’re tired 

“I’m FINE, Kenji!” Thea protests, brushing past me to open the door.

“ We must have different definitions of ‘fine’ then,” I retort, placing my hand over hers currently perched on the doorknob. “You’re wearing two completely different shoes and you put salt in your coffee instead of sugar…then chugged it.”

“I’m starting a new fashion trend and needed some extra sodium in my diet, obviously,” She spits out, turning to flash a laser-sharp glare at me.

I raise my hands up to her cheeks, cupping her face gently and staring her dead in the eyes. “You’ve been swamped at work this entire week then spent all of last night chasing down a knock-off of The Flash; I think Grayson will understand if you miss one weekend meeting. You may be super-human, but you still need to rest, darlin’.” I keep my voice soft, a stern but tender look plastered on my face.

We stand there for a beat, using only our eyes to argue our position on the subject at hand, before Thea lets out a defeated sigh.

“I guess you have a point…this time.”

Once she has notified Grayson of her decision, we return to our bed. I wrap my arms around her, pulling her back tightly against my chest. When she’s finally snoring softly, I allow myself to drift off as well, proud in my heroic efforts to save the innocent employees of Prescott Industries from the wrath of Tired Thea.
